Noitaitini

Tomorrow, Saturday November 22nd, will be the annual BWRFC Noitaitini at Camp Wanachugganatty. It will be where you will complete your final conversion from Bruno Scouts into Veteran Rugby Scouts. Please arrive with your performances fully prepared and be punctual. You must be at Camp Wanachugganatty (also known as 168 Williams St.), all together as a class, at 9pm sharp. If anyone is late or missing, there will be consequences for all of you. Wear your sashes and your smiles, and nothing else. Haha! Just kidding--a bit of Scouting humor for your long journey! (But do wear your sashes.)

Conversion! Two points!

Congratulations to our Rugby Cadets -- you have truly succeeded today in brightening up the sad lonely lives of the elderly.  You are now Bruno Scouts!

Your next conversion will be your last.  It begins with noon practice tomorrow.  Your den mother are all skipping class to be there, so make sure you make it too.  Annalisa, tu es excusée à cause de ton examen.  Bonne chance, et tu nous manqueras!

While working toward your final badge, it is important to show your dedication to the world. Remember to dress like a true rugby scout all day long, sash, badges, socks, and all.

Also make sure that your uniform is good activewear -- this practice is not a joke!

If any vet catches you out of uniform during the day, there will be a price to pay at Camp Wanachugganatty!

Performing Your Civic Duty

Greetings Cadets!!!!!

Tomorrow you will perform an act of Community Service for your fellow Vets... elderly care if you will. Examples of such events include, but are not limited to musical candy-grams, gourmet lunch on the main green or a therapeutic massage (creativity will be heavily rewarded). Each troop should email their assigned class and establish a time that will work best for both parties.

Successful Conversion!

Today, our Natty Scouts proved themselves phenomenally with their extremely successful completion of the class photo assignment. They have now converted to the rank of Rugby Cadets!

Merit badges will available in the Blue Room from 11am-12pm. 

Note to Rugby Cadets: Please forward an electronic version of your assignment to one of the den mothers so that it can be shared with the rest of the Veteran Rugby Scouts. 

Morning Practice

During a brief stint as Brownie Cubs, all our rookies successfully completed their morning practice requirements, and have now been converted to the rank of Natty Scout.

Merit Badges commemorating this conversion will be available to scouts in the Blue Room between 1:15 and 3.

We hope you are all progressing happily through your first task.  Keep checking this scoutlog ("slog," so to speak) for more info throughout the week.  You can also us the comments feature to keep in touch with each other and with your den mothers, Funnel Warrior, Rain-Fall-Nose-Fall, and Big-Bear-Little-Spill!

Tonight, The Journey Begins . . .

Congratulations, you are now officially Rookie Scouts!  Between 10 and 11 PM tonight, you will each receive a clue.  Use this clue to help locate the other members of your troop.  After you have solved the puzzle of your troopmates' identities, bring it, as a troop, to your Den Mother's home between 9 and 10 pm tomorrow (Monday) night, to receive credit toward your progress through the scouting ranks.

Important Events Coming up!!!

Here is some advance warning for some tasks you may want to plan for in advance.  Remember, like all events, these are MANDATORY.  Any  failure to fully participate will negatively impact your troop, your class, and your own progress through the ranks of the Rugby Scouts.

Tuesday: Morning Practice

Be booted up and ready for practice on Lincoln Field NO LATER THAN 7:30 AM.

Wednesday: Class Photo due at 5 PM

Every member of your class must be present in your class photo, which should have a scenic background that represents your scouting love of the outdoors!  In the photo, every Veteran Rugby Scout must be portrayed by one rookie.  There are more of us than you, so leave time for necessary photo editing!  Post a copy of the picture on each of your den mothers' bedroom doors by 5 PM on Wednesday.

Welcome Scouts!

We are delighted that you have decided to join the Rugby Scouts Of Brunonia. Our esteemed organization has been encouraging contact between girls since 1977 to build communities, foster leadership, and most of all, have fun! Being a rugby scout will take you from the various basements and backyards of Providence to places as exciting and adventuresome as the balloon fields of Albuquerque or the meticulously groomed pitches of Stanford. Although there are many opportunities for all who join the Rugby Scouts, rising through the ranks to achieve the level of Veteran Rugby Scout is no easy task, and is a rare and great honor. Next week, you will work in your troops and as a whole scouting class to complete various tasks to work towards this goal.

The culmination of this week will be a retreat to Camp Wanachugganatty on Saturday, November 22^nd, where the event known as Noitaitini will be held. For this occasion, you will be asked to prepare several performances that will serve as the final exhibition of the skills and experiences that you have gained from the week. The skit component of your performance will be prepared in your individual troops. Details and troop assignments will be provided at a later date. Your class song, a proud Rugby Scout tradition, should pay homage to the current Veteran Rugby Scouts whose ranks you will soon be joining.
